The Farewell

Director and screenwriter Lulu Wang has created a heartfelt, amusing homage to family with The Farewell. When Billi (Awkwafina), who grew up and lives in New York, learns from her parents that her beloved grandmother in China has been diagnosed with cancer, her life is turned upside down. To explain the sudden presence of the whole family in a plausible way, a spontaneous wedding is organized without further ado.
